Join the Live Debate on How Europe Will Decarbonise Road Freight.
On Thursday, 27 October, The Brussels Times and European Clean Trucking Alliance (ECTA) will be hosting a live-streamed debate on road freight decarbonisation.
The debate will give attendees an overview of the different industry perspectives on the importance of shifting away from fossil fuels to greener, cleaner, and more energy-efficient solutions in the road transport sector.
Considering the current state of the world’s environment and the very pressing energy issues facing Europe, this discussion couldn’t come at a more relevant time.
The interactive debate will feature top EU decision makers and business representatives on what is needed to increase the pace of transition to fully decarbonise EU road freight at EU and national levels. This event shows that Europe is not only committed to decarbonisation, but firmly on the path to electrifying long-range freight transport.
Ahead of this roadshow event, the road freight community has also been asked to share its best ideas on how the EU can boost the transition to zero emission trucks via a crowdsourcing platform on the European Clean Trucking Alliance website. More than 70 proposals and solutions have been received from the community and all the questions that will be asked by the moderator to the speakers are solutions coming from the ideas received in the crowdsourcing ideas platform.
The debate will cover the key issues facing the EU, including the availability of e-trucks for fleet owners, required C02 standards for a successful transition to zero emissions, the state of charging infrastructure and the readiness of individual countries for e-trucks.
